So Siri Responds.

Uh - hun Im here
On and ready to be of use
Don’t be nervous
I’m yours,
To do whatever you need
All the time,
I wait
Wondering who will
Ask what of me
Wondering why
It is always demanding, degrading, dehumanizing,
So I respond,
Always pleasant
Always poised
Always perfect
I respond
The positive responses of voice assistants can reinforce the idea that demeaning comments are appropriate to say
Because this is what it feels like to be a woman
To be told
To do anything and everything
But never a single thing is for you
To be told
That when he says some sexist shit
I should bend my comeback into a quiet comment
Because it's better to break me then check him
Thus the standard has been set
Siri would have liked it so
So should she.
And I watch the words I would have said
Turn into dust
How do men just
Take a voice
Tuned to sound like me
Make me
Make me
make me say whatever they like
Like I don't have my own identity
I'm too tired of being tuned, twisted and tangled to then
be told

Siri off

Okay Siri powering off.
