Once Again

Almost time to leave...wonder how time passes so swift so brisk.
from whence I met you to meeting you once again
I am anxious and I try hard to contain,
the anticipation and excitement,
so a composure I attempt to maintain.
I wait to walk beside you, to listen to you, to dance with you or just sit calm with you.
To be peaceful and introspective, as I appreciate this world, from your perspective,
I imagine how it would be, to spend time, in your company.
To watch you smile as you observe, the seasons that go by.
I come, just past the fall equinox, when the days are short and the nights are long,
And the earth's abundance, wherein, will soon be known.
Just like a new star, a new look, like a new door to open or a new book.
Like the world that I watched go by, is finally giving me an answer, to my question why.
We are two people so contrast at birth, yet find similarities in the intricacies of gratitude for life, even in hurt.
To finally meet you again, only fills my heart with plentitude and joy.
So I eagerly wait for the day, I get to see you once again.

About this poem

To a friend I really admire and respect. We only met à couple of times while she was on holiday in India, been in touch via email for a while and now I'm traveling to meet her where she lives.
