TO MY BELOVED

Wallowed in the mud of my mind
Stilled by the mere thought of you
I can't seem to erase your face from my head
I hear whispers from yonder
Telling me to awake from my dream
But I convince myself, “ it's not a dream”

In the mornings I lift my eyes
I behold the sun below the horizon
In it's beams I see your face
To the streams and rivers, I go
The reflection of your face is what strikes my eyes
To my eyes I say, “ lie to me not”

As the sun sets, I observe it
Nothing but your face I behold
I close my eyes and wring them
To make sure iam not dreaming
Upon opening, nothing but your face I behold
If love is a person, it's you my beloved
