On the Way to You

"On the Way to You"
Been searchin' for true love;
the one that never fails,
never disappoints,
never hurts,
never paves to a broken heart.
In places where I see
phases of people who beam
with astounding glimmer,
I mistook it as I assumed it
can be my safe place to dwell.
The hunger of being the only
prince in that magical kingdom
elates me thus I walk along with
the thorns that have been prickling
underneath my feet.
In the delights of my young heart,
I thought it was just a part of the
piece of me I was trying to weave
in order to create a puzzling
yet sweet memories in the midst of
loving and fighting for the love
that grew out of nowhere.
Sadly enough, it wrecked me and
torn me into pieces which are so
difficult to mend and heal.
Only if I had realized sooner that
I'd be losing myself,
I never trade the vibe within me.
--Why am I such a fool though?
Maybe I was just too young
to notice and
too naive to depend my
happiness on someone
who never had the chance to see
the beautiful in me.
Beyond the horizons where all
I can see is the vast glittering
of tears that surmount in these
two little ponds, I saw the growing
hope and the yearn to come back
to my other half.
How could I forgot to remember
that the safe place that I've been
looking for can be my own self ---
In my long walk of finding the real one,
I overlooked and had settled for less.
I never understood why I was hurt
so bad and I cursed the universe
for tearing me apart. However,
it became my way of knowing
and going back home,
on the way to the safest haven
here on earth---MYSELF.
