My Quest for Freedom

Grace Ohobu Adoga 2009 (Akwa Ibom State)

Free verse
Deep down in me
I find this urge
This zeal and aspiration
To be free.

I was anxious of my unknown tomorrow
I questioned not my fate but..
that of my seeds.
The story is changed..
Freedom I see,
I perceive Justice
And enhance fair play.
I strived for justice ,and sought for freedom
I failed a thousand times. and was totally frustrated.
But now I'm on it.

I'm this black queen
that enhances the quest for freedom.

This is my mission...
My goal...
And quest.

I wrote this poem because I love writing poems about black life and our rights.
