Lighthouse

What a constant struggle this life brings
Often overcome with obstacles and little things
Beaten down by the everyday tasks
A simple question that no one asks
Are you okay?
How are you doing today?
Asked with sincerity and concern
One might truly be surprised to learn
Life is harsh and cruel and cold
And darkness can consume you whole
But through the veil of darkness is a light
One that is constant and burning bright
There is where you will find me, dear
Miles apart but always near
Friendship is what brought me to you
It will bind us even after our last adieu
Whatever stormy weather there may be
I will be your beacon, your light upon the sea
So if ever you find yourself weary from the day
I am here to let you know that you will be okay
