Guilt

Stacey obayi 2004 (Abuja)

Im sorry that when I say a word it's like a punch in the gut
That the guilt you feel won't ever let up
I hate that what we have is ashes and dust
And we're always out of luck
You gave me heart ache and taught me lust
Yet you sit there pointing my flaws out
The innocence in your eyes replacement with looks of disgust
That warm love we shared is too cold to bare
And I'm sorry I couldn't help
I had demons that kept me aware
Of the fact that I was never your type and I could never compare
See she was what you wanted and I was left in despair
How I wish you'd have given me a reason to reject
The fact that we were never just a pair
That it hurts more than words could express
And you're hot and cold from all my tears
