Are You Okay?

Think about you every day,
Wonder what drove you away.
You will always be a friend,
Right down to the very end.

I remember things we shared,
Gifts and cards when we both cared.
Wish I knew why you don't write,
In my thoughts, both day and night.

Did someone pass, or was it me?
Not knowing, I can't be set free.
If it's something that I said,
Let me know, and then, my friend...

I'll apologize to you,
And our friendship we'll renew.
Let me in, or let me know,
Only then can I let go.

About this poem

I wrote this poem to a friend in India I met in a game online. We've been writing for a long time. She has stopped writing to me. Things are so bad in India, I fear something has happened to her. I pray she's okay.

I love being outside, and had fun raising caterpillars mostly into moths, raising rescued baby animals, and keeping a baby horned toad for a pet. Now, at 74, I live on an island off the coast of WA state, and still enjoy walking on the beach searching for treasures. I live with my little dog, Sadie, a toy poodle. more…
