Just Doing My Duty

I’ve written so much more now
Than I have a right to say
But I just had to write it down
Before I fly away

Remember that I’ve loved you
And I never meant you harm
But I was sent out by the Lord
To sound a great alarm

I didn’t mean to frighten you
Or to your heart bring terror
But if you will not fear the Lord
You’ll live your life in error

To protect and serve you
