The Pine Tree

Outside my school
The pine tree stood
Why , back then
I never understood

He never got , it seems
Any homework done
Which now i feel
Might have been fun

He had a recess
For himself all day
No notes to take
And no rhymes to say

I wonder why still
He did not wander
All the time he had
But he did not squander

He could sway to me
His hands all day
No teachers to scold him
Until today

He never had to learn
His lessons byheart
He was rather into
Some other windy craft

If he had to give exams
What would the questions be ?
How far can you see ?
And Is that your 'Geography'

I do not think he was
Of Math , ever scared
But he did well I guess
With the equations he had

And with all this and time
He has grown so tall
Standing next to him
I still feel so small
