SHE CARRIES HOPE

She is hurting,
hiding her pain, deep inside her soul.

She is wondering,
what did she do to deserve what she owns.

She had a past, darker than the dark,
but she still, in her, got a spark
to become the world's brightest star.

She carries hope,
slowly and steadily learning how to cope.

She carries hope to free her soul,
from all that baggage she holds.

She is learning to dance in the rain on her own,
for the days when she is happy but alone.

She is hurting and struggling,
fighting hard but not quitting,
because she knows in the end
it will all be worth it.

She is determined to heal her wounds,
without making any sounds or crying out loud,
because she wants to survive in this crowd,
and make her mother proud.
