Not True

Mahroz Bilal 2008 (Gujranwala)

I may not have lived that long to know the world
But I do realize, as I grow, as I grow
That the people around me,
Call themselves my friends
Wearing a face mask on their faces
To hide the bitter truth
They may smile or be sweet in front
But soon that smile fades to un cover
that Mask
It's too much, But
I'll still hold on
That day I realized that
Just be true to yourself
Cause no one's going to be
True to you
Have you ever felt a heart that's
Cold and broken
Then you'll understand the pain of being lost
That the people we Trusted were not true

About this poem

Friends are precious, sure. But what if they are fake. This poem is about the people who are not true. The writer gets to know this bitter truth and is broken that the people she trusted were not true.
