Lost by Venres
Hello.
What is my purpose?
What is your purpose?
What do you do, day in, day out?
What do you do, with your life?
Every breath in, every breath out?
What keeps you driving?
Why do you look forward?
What keeps me looking forward?
Where is forward?
Hello.
What is my purpose?
Where is my purpose?
Where do I go?
Where do I drive?
What is my destiny?
What has destiny set up for me?
Am I meant to be someone?
Am I meant to be something?
What am I meant to be?
What am I?
Hello.
What is my purpose?
Am I meant to be a great soul?
Am I meant to be a leader?
Am I meant to lead?
Who do I lead?
Do I lead people to their victory?
Do I lead them to death?
Who do I lead?
Where do I lead?
Hello.
What is my purpose?
Where do I have to go to?
Has destiny set a path for me?
Where is the path destiny has set for me?
Where does it lead to?
I can't see the path!
Can someone see the path?
All I can see is this fog.
Where is the light that is supposed to help me find my way?
Are you my light?
I need a light!
Who are you?
You in the distance! Answer me!
Who are you?
Are you destiny?
Hello.
What is my purpose?.
Are you my light?
Can you bring me back to my path?
I have lost the way.
Am I supposed to stay?
What is this madness we call life?
Does it ever end, do we ever thrive?
How do I be successfull, like everyone else?
What is the cost?
What is my purpose?
Hello, I am lost.
About this poem
I wrote this when I was thinking about suicide in one of my darkest times back in 2021 while listening to Immortale by Alesso. It's meant to be a narrative together with that musical piece. From the irritated start of my journey over purpose questions, from straying away of the main road in life to confessing that I was lost: This is my first and only poem.
