Judgemental

Kika 2007 (Hosur, Tamil Nadu)

Smile a lot,
Laugh a lot,
Speak a lot,
Express a lot,
Then they'll call you
An 'Attention' seeker!

Smile no more,
Laugh no more,
Speak no more,
Express no more,
Then they'll call you
An introvert!

Smile a little,
Laugh a little,
Speak a little,
Express a little,
They'll call you the perfect girl!

(Oh no, what a world I live in
The way I behave
Says the person I am.)

Talk with boys,
Play with boys,
Walk with boys,
Then they'll call you a tomboy!

Talk with girls,
Play with girls,
Walk with girls,
They'll call you a well mannered girl!

(Oh no, what a world I live in
The person I speak with
Defines the person I am.)

(Don't I have freedom
To talk with boys
To kill my boredom
Of talking to girls as always?)

The society I live in
Is at fault.
Not letting me win
The life I want.

Just stop controlling me!
Stop looking at me
With judgemental eyes.
Stop giving opinions about me.
No one asked for it.
