Cooper

Afternoon half past four
Hounds howl rambunctiously
Harken through the backdoor
Clamor hints company

From ponderosa tree
Lone Cooper’s hawk surveys
Magnificent and free
Coolly eyes mutts sideways

Raptor’s roost detected
Silently she stretches
Serenity tested
Evades beyond hedges

Powerfully wings lift
Shed quill to then bestow
Single fluttering gift
Fastened to my chapeau

A very neat bird's eye view of a poem.
Remember the feather in our fedora years ago ?
    What class we had then
He was called dapper Dan !
