I Forgive You

I Forgive You
Was I wrong to be me?
Was I wrong to plea?
Was I wrong to keep trying?
Was I wrong to keep fighting?

Why have you lied?
Why did you hide?
Why did you treat me like dirt?
Why did you want me hurt?

I cared about you,
And you mattered to me.
I did everything I could to fix it,
But all you did was blame.

You took aim,
And shot.
You shot me down
For your ego.

I still miss you and wish the best,
I hope that God will bless.
I hope that peacefully you will rest,
And that you are happy.
I hope you know your worth,
And that I forgive you.

I hope one day we can meet again,
And finally set things right.
But it can only happen if you will it,
And admit that you were wrong.

I am patiently waiting,
For that apology I deserve.

About this poem

This poem was written when I struggled to accept the fact that I will never get an apology I deserve. It is kind of the realization that no matter what I do, I will always be blamed for what happened. I hope that through this poem, others will feel comforted to know that they are not alone.
