Life Runs Its Course

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

When waking up no longer seems appealing
When going out has finally lost its charm
You’ll find me waiting on the shore for healing
Deep in the cove where I cannot be harmed

As I walked beside the deep and troubled waters
A strong wind from the east was blowing in
Waves crashed upon the beach; the whole earth shuddered
Above the rocks I saw the Son of Man

At last I found the One who truly loves me
Nobody else could ever change my path
God is the One who always is above me
I will not fear; I will not feel his wrath
