Long Term Stir

Into a warm and inviting kitchen.
A place in many homes,
Where people gather to go...
To sit and meet,
Family members, neighbors and friends.
Along with others,
There to share and enjoy to meet.

Treated with snacks.
And a pleasant hospitality.
With a doing to talk about this and that.
Leaving no one to feel,
It unnatural or unwelcomed to join in the act.

So accustomed and familiar,
Had been these times...
To once experience them lived.
An exchanging of laughter and fun.
No one felt it negative.

Then these times came,
Dramatically to change.
To now and today become,
A long term to stir up lies told to tell.
On anyone.
For no other reason but to chew the fat.
With the wish to want it hoped,
A doing of that will bring anyone back.
To share the latest gossip and news.
Juicy and mouth watering.
Done to choose and victimized,
A family member, friend or not.
Chosen to abuse.

And the few who do decide to return,
With gossip to add to a sizzling hot pot.
Pouring tea mixed with delicious B.S.
Stirred up to have lips dripping,
As more deception no one regrets.
To pass this nonsense on to someone else.

'Tell me this,
Where on Earth...
Did you get the ingredients for this stuff?
It is so delicious.
I have become addicted to it.
Where did you get the recipe?'

'You are the first who has told me that.
The others who use to join me in the kitchen,
For some reason,
Have not returned to come back.
Well...
Since you asked.
It's homemade.
I added and stirred up,
Some tasteful stuff I had forgotten I had.
From a long gone past.
Then remembered peppered spice,
Not too hot.
But in my mind, for whatever the reason,
It came back to reminisce to last.
And now all I do,
Is to keep it stirred up.
I'm glad you like it as much as I do.
If you want more,
This I've got for you!'

'Which way do you keep stirring it?
Slow and clockwise?
Or fast the other way?'

'I like it slow and counter-clockwise.
The taste,
Seems so much better that way.
It allows me to remember.
And not forget a single thing.'

'Sure.
I'll have more.
The others don't know what they're missing.'

'Whether they do or not,
This pot will stay hot.
For as long as possible.
Let's pour more tea.'

'Certainly.
What should I say to the others.
You know,
When something is as delicious as this...
It will be difficult to keep to myself.'

'Don't worry about it.
What I have done to do,
You will discover is not new at all.
And with you,
Enjoying it the way you say you do...
I will always find a way,
To keep what I've create updated.'

'Don't be so modest.
I could never duplicate this like you.'

'Try.
At least attempt it.'
There's nothing more that I want,
Than to be flattered.'

'Will you stop joking.'

'You know,
I use to do that a lot.
Until I was made convinced,
The doing of it was at my expense!
And check this out,
In my own kitchen!'
