Choke

Shanna-Lee Slobodian 1974 (Edmonton, Alberta)

Safely passing onward secretive
Spirits untrusting of fellow partner

This being the new way to keep intact
Unconsciously manifesting our overshadowed future
yet still keep the stink of learned trickery.
Former allegiance's old age fieltys are only words
Endangered by friends
family
abandoning
family
proud to be cursed by the cursed
gaining strength through our weakening

I see you all
I see you coming
In my heart I laugh as I on choke this fear
Let's go

About this poem
