Cottonwood Spring

Sit here with me
Awhile and breathe
This fine cottonwood spring
Where tears come easy
Not so, understanding

I will never know why
My young brother fair and strong
Whose ashes I hold in a vial
Gone too soon and fast

And the man I love
Who is called Professor
Claims honor and diplomas
But asks me to spell hello
Does not remember
That he did or did not, take his medication
Gone too but
Not yet, and slow
So slow

Tears come easy
Not so, understanding
Please, sit here with me
Awhile so I can breathe
This fine cottonwood spring

This is a very poignant poem about loss of close family.
You can never have enough tears to wipe away the memory
Some say life is tough, and then you die !
