Life in death

As I look out my window, I see rain.
Showering from the smallest flower to the tallest tree.

Not knowing what path to take or when to stop.

To sway free without emotion.
without a care.

Like a mama bird covering their young the rain covers us all.

The sign of a fresh new beginning.

But just how the rain cleanses it can flood and drown an entire civilization.

Bringing chaos and fright. All in a blink of an eye.

It can destroy everything in its path.
Just like that.

As I look out my window I see death.
Lurking in the shadows with a patient breath.

Seeking, seeking never to rest.
Waiting for the right moment.

See like the rain, death is free and chaotic.
Flooding everything with sadness and at the same time with beauty.

For when we die, flowers grow.
For when we die, new life begins.

As I look out my window, I see peace.
All suffering is overcome by the gentle sound of the rain.
