Between my Death and Rebirth
My depression wears a suit
And he holds business meetings with my heart and soul
Trying to sell them the idea of a life outside my body
And he is pretty convincing , slide shows with flares and fire works
Showing all the times my mind sold them out
How my mind gave my heart the idea of all things love, but left her broken with all her pieces scattered across the galaxies
And each piece being held hostage by his demons in the pits of unknown hells
Who would dare to go find her?
And he reminded my soul
Of the the time she almost burned out
Working overtime to ease the mind
With all her energy drained by anxiety and insomnia, depression had to step in
My depression wears a black suit and tie
He looks very attractive, attracting me into his darkness and making it look so pretty
With all the fairy dust and confetti I too joined the pity party
We seem to get along so well, even I am starting to hate my mind
I'm sold for a bit to the Idea of moving out my body
But reality grabbed a hold of me and told me stories of survival
My depression keeps fighting to take me
He calls this exit strategy home
And as his darkness consumes me
I let it eat all that has burnt me
His demons feeding on my leftovers
Consuming the ashes of my love
Even then I held on to hope
As reality burns her light my way
Reminding me of the purposes to keep fighting alive
She said "one day you will hear the morning birds sing your name, be patient..."
My depression wore a suit to his funeral
And he read his own eulogy
He told me He would be back
But for now I chose to live
In between my death and rebirth.
