Merry go-round

A new string
and an old one.
A new coat
and the worn one.
The coarse dirt
and the shriveled plum.
Round and round we go.

A dead cat
and a newborn.
Bright, shining diamonds
and a daydream.

Oh Lord of Being grant me another
day to live my life is solace.
Grant me another day to experience,
to see and to believe.
One day to the next.
A bird house or a nest?

Oh Lord of Being grant me my last dying wish
To be human once more
To feel and to adore.
again and again
Like a merry go-round

Round and round we go.

About this poem

Sometimes it feels endless, like everyday just repeats itself. What an atrocious way to live.
