Driving Mrs Lazy

Hasan Johnson 1980 (Peoria Illinois)

You called a Uber and I'm the driver
Before I get to you I'm already tired
I drive all day to make a few dollars
You don't want to tip cause to you I'm just a driver
I picked up your suitcase and put it in the trunk
Now you hate that suitcase and think it should be burned
I speak and say hello after you dragged yourself to my car
And even though you called me and can clearly see all my information and the vehicle I'm driving on the app with my name, picture, and license plate with the color of the vehicle make and model
You still look me up and down and ask me if I'm your driver
I must have drove here by chance, I think to myself or maybe I just drove here for my health
Maybe you just jump in and out of strangers cars.... That would be crazy
I don't even want to offend Mrs Lazy
She's easily offended by any and everything
She sees me as a peasant even though I'm a king
She grabs her purse tight as she sits back and crosses her legs
Her conversation is a bore and for joy you would have to beg
A breath of fresh air flows through the window that's slightly cracked
The vehicles maintenance is where my mind is at
Gas prices have destroyed the possibility of a profit and I think I'm in training to become a Profit
She complains about the ride and about the cost
And I'm only here because I was told I could be my own boss
But how can I be the boss if I can get fired from the job and as a self employed individual you literally work twice as hard
Look at her, talking on her phone
Sir can you turn that down please
Can't listen to the radio while passengers are in the car
Must be nice to be rich and have someone driving you around even if it's someone to which you look down
Maybe God will bless me
High blood pressure pills help for the stress that's on me
As I drop her off at her destination
I hurriedly grab her suitcase from the trunk with no hesitation
The quicker she gets out the quicker I'm on my way
Wondering why I was so lazy
I could have would have should have been something else
But just like her I was lazy myself
Now I'm servant to all and it's a bloody shame
When they address me they think the Uber driver is my name
