makeshift

once my tongue lacks its richness
and your eyes become polished
when your exhales convert to sighs
i recognize tomorrow isn’t promised

so i’ll bask in your dimming light
for as long as i’m allowed
and dance in your growing shadow
then surrender the figure I endowed

if it is my being that’s repulsive
then i ask you to find peace between my thighs
reintroduce your lips to mine
for this is the only bond that ties

reduce me however you desire
and make use of my youth
if only this keeps you tethered
then i wish to never know your truth

there's no emotions that lie atop my skin
and you can’t argue with my bones
there is no word my body can utter
that can hinder these inmost loans

with both our bodies drowning in bliss
i feel nothing short of delight
but only because i was awarded your intimacy
for just one more night
