Our Life Together

At the altar in the church that day, we stood there quietly side by side
Our families and friends all invited, to see us both bursting with pride.
We said "I do" to each other, and we became husband and wife
Our hearts had become united, and together we'd start a new life.
We knew that there would be good times, when we'd share the laughter and fun
But we also knew there'd be tough times, in our new life which had just begun.
We had our arguments and sadness, and some moments when tears were shed
But in these times our love prevailed, there was nothing more to be said.
Blessed with a family to be proud of, some fifty eight years we would spend
Till your passing, a most painful memory, would bring our new life to an end.
God found you a place in His Garden, and now you lie peacefully at rest
In a place of warmth and comfort, never more will you be distressed.
