nothing at all

There is far too much sadness
sewn into my skin.
When did it get in?
Like ink
spilled on white cloth,
this sorrow
stains every thought.
I try to flee
but I'm caught
in between
melting into the melancholy
heeding its call
or feeling absolutely
nothing
at all.

I wrote this poem in an attempt to explain the crossroads of sadness I feel like I'm often at.
