Lover, Oh Lover

Rory Bacon 2000 (Seattle WA)

O lover of mine
How my heart burns for you
Oh love me, as I do for you.
Loving you, oh mine,
Crushes me like a fine wine.

Heart and heart, together ours beat
Breathing as one, loving as one
Not loving you, a battle unwon
Lover, oh sweet honey
A taste on my tongue, I dare not speak.

This feeling, making me weak,
Butterflies, and fireflies,
Lift up the skys,
Fireworks in my veins
A feeling, I pray, will never change.

Oh lover, oh lover
Please love me so.
I promise to love thee,
As thee has loved me so.

About this poem

This poem was an assignment for my English class. I am extremely proud of it. I wrote about my boyfriend, and how he makes me feel when we are together.
