Lost Innocence

And in our suffering, we seek that which is most reliable and constant.
Where comfort is guaranteed even if its need is not made obvious.
That is the reason for our deepest longing.

In a chaotic world, our minds tend to wander off to the serenity of our simpler times and seek refuge.
And in that very moment, the realization that a moment in time cannot be relived.
That the refuge it craves is but a futile fantasy.
Our minds are at their knees, completely surrendering the power they possess, power not enough.
None to bring light nor spark that will remind us that we Once the children of light.
That Our beauty was made known to the world, Our spirits sang the melodies of nature.
We... were. Once. Whole.

Our hearts danced and our bodies followed.
Before the suffering, the purity of our souls was visible even when our eyes were closed.
Perfection was not a thing to be attained, for we knew we were loved.
We were enough...
Our entire existence was written in the stars, that one day when we have completely forgotten who we are, the stars will guide us back to the future, designed.

I wrote this poem during a very difficult time in my life. It was my way of confronting my feeling and acknowledging my pain.
