Pain for Pain

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Anyone who takes pleasure in the pain of others
Will himself feel that same pain

You think that you have won
When your flesh has prevailed
Will you still think that way?
When your flesh has been jailed!

Thrown into prison for the pain you caused
When you lied to their faces
Everything that you do will come back to you
You won’t find any hiding places

No refuge to run to
No stronghold to trust in
Left out in the cold
Go on with your lusting!

You want everything that you will never have
Because you would just take it to do something bad!
