The Visions

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

I looked and saw Jesus standing there
High and lifted up
I knelt before him in the air
And then received my cup

The cup was filled with wonderful things
My thoughts cannot describe
And when you hear the angels singing
You and I will fly

We’ll fly into the Father’s arms
A gift he gave his Son
And in that place, we’ll see his charm
It looked like lots of fun

But then I had to come back down
To walk upon the earth
I had to fight another round
Before I quenched my thirst

I’ll kneel down by the stream
Along the way and take a drink
Then when I lift my head again
My mind will start to think

This vision God has given me
He gave me to protect
Protect me from the evil one
And make me his elect

I know the kingdom is coming soon
There will be no more delay
When the seventh angel sounds his blast
God’s children all will say:

Father you are holy; you are righteous
You’re the One
You filled us with your Spirit
Making all of us your sons
