When the Rain Spoke

The day it rained
the world was quiet drenched in the heaven’s tears

the day it rained
I couldn’t recall the day, the month or year

the day it rained
thunder screamed so loud my ears would never hear

the day it rained

my tears mixed in with all I could fear

the day it rained
I listened to whispers of all who were near

the day it rained
I felt I danced and the dew cheered

the day the rain stopped
I went back to hide from the rising sun

the day it shined
I knew the rain would always come

the day it shined
I felt so sad the dry ground broke

the day it shined
I sat in silence for I miss when the rain spoke

About this poem

These past three year with the whole “covid fiasco thing” I felt a big connection with rain, so I began to write poems and since then I haven’t stopped.
