Selfish

Selfish

Am I really selfish?
I have nothing more to give.
But I think I'll go to hell if,
I go and top myself.
The problem is I'm there though,
It's really not that great,
Losing of your feelings,
While filling up with hate,
The problem as I see it,
Is that I'm already here,
And if I go and top myself,
I’ll just go over there.

About this poem

I struggled with isolation through lockdown, while going through a 16 month grievance process / employment tribunal for reporting racism and bigotry. I turned to writing poems after quitting the job due to lack of action by the company. A true story and unfortunately I have the court documents to prove it.
