Choices

Choices

I chose to leave; you chose to stay.
I couldn’t find a job so I joined the Army.
You wanted a life where you were.
I wanted to prove myself, that I could succeed.
To get a job that I didn’t earn to me was wrong.
You married and raised a family,
that you can be proud of.
I married, raised a family and served 20 years.
I got to travel and prove my worth.
You stayed and have led a full life you earned.
Two separate paths were traveled my friend.
I’m satisfied with my life and I hope you are too.
I will always consider you my friend.
