Wonder

Annurani Sharma 1978 (Siliguri)

To wonder is a power
Deeply intriguing and charging
Helping you
   To discover
To uncover
To rejoice
To make a choice
To not be ‘the normal’
To change the world ‘for the better’
With the power to wonder/
To think and ponder/
One can claim a life that has a worth
One which is sans all gluttony and sloth
Must you rise and awaken your soul
Within your heart lies your true life–goal
To not limit yourself to the old molds
Challenge your Conscience to have it unfold
the mysterious powers that ‘to wonder’ withholds.

Annurani Sharma

I am an Indian poet who writes both in English and in Hindi. Several of my poems have been published in magazines and dailies. Although, I have recently been more prone to writing in Hindi, English poetry finds a natural place when something unique tugs at my heart and English language becomes a medium of expression. One of my first poems in English was selected by Poetry.org for its Coffee Table edition ((2002). Thanks and Regards, Annurani more…
