Spring in the Air

The tiny birds are chirping as I walk outside.
The air is fresh laundry
clean and I know the snow is gone.
The grass is still a dead green,
One of the flaws in nature.
The geese honk coming home for spring
A perfect formation
The flowers are sprouting and opening,
Reds, greens, oranges, yellows all cloud my eyes.

The gray clouds in the sky tower over me,
Watering the flowers.
The cold wet water, falls down on me
It is a rushing river, a waterfall,
It cleans the air,
Smells of fresh laundry
Down from the clouds.
It’s only short though.
Off and on
Soon the sun will shine,
Peeking out behind the clouds.
