Over the Water

Kalynn Green 2008 (Huntington)

Over the Water
Sitting on the cement ledge
swishing and splashing
The sound of water hitting the rocks
The wind blowing in your face
The sun shining on the river
The birds chirping
The woodpeckers knocking

sitting there
a cold chill through your body
starting to think negatively
A droplet down the face
Nobody can stop it
Everything starts to hurt
problems at school
Floating around

stressed

Not Feeling good enough
Work harder
Try your best!
Don’t be a stranger in the dark
Come out of the corner!
Don’t keep doubting yourself!
cooling down
What is it that can be done
Focus on school!
Your grades
That’s what’s important

the gravel beneath your feet
walking home
What class can you start with
What assignments
How many

The door creaks open
jumping on the bed
A bird in the air
Grabbing the iPad
Clicking on the lowest class
Assignment after assignment
Your done

The bell rings
Sitting in the seat
feeling a sign of relief
No detentions
No Friday six
finally caught up
