Not The Only One

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

Listen.
And I hope I make this very clear.
I have no interest in wearing your clothes.
Or making false impressions,
To your neighbors, friends or those you may...
Claim to know.

If I express my interest in you,
It is not what you have or assume I want.
With it to believe,
My interest in you is something I wish...
Is returned to receive.

I admire your discipline.
And your efforts to endeavor.
With unrelenting motivating incentive.
This I respect and have expressed before.
Being questioned about that?
I am not going to go through it anymore.

Listen.
And know this now,
For the last time to comprehend.
With it understood to understand.
Who you are is special.
However...
You are not the only one on Earth who is!
