OUR TRIP

Our trip began on a beautiful day...
flowers were all abloom.

The sky was blue...
the sea was calm.
Beauty lie all around.

But much too quickly...
the skies turned grey.

The wind became a savage beast....
it ripped at our very souls.

The flowers have all died...
the beast has been tamed.

Now.....
all that is left.

Is a gnawing reminder...
quickly turning to disdain.

Can we set all this aside...
Or, has too much been destroyed.

Perhaps we can chart a different course...
go in a different direction.

One that is calmer...
can we talk about this sensibly...
Not emotionally...
and end this pain forever.

Or....
Is it too late...
to try to forgive and forget.
