To the drinker
Who each night
Seeks to lose
Inhibitions
And feel a oneness
With all around

The court of rage
Will have its say

To control the spheres

For the sake
Of freedom

To drop the reins

And howl to the moon
Freed from the chains
That keep us tame

I, too, am an alcoholic
Fifteen years sober
The days of seeking
Love
Now, a waking dream
So that, in sobriety
I am One with all

One with you
And your helplessness
Your loneliness
Your quest for something more

It is there within you
A part of us
Sober and full
Nature, the perfected
Dream
Of unity
Telling each
That water
Is all we need
To subsist
And grow

Come into me

For embellishments
For your disease
