Greed

Patricia Ann Hale 1982 (Leavenworth Ks)

Her life is now a broken factor
In the dumpster her body lays
Never again will she matter
Never again will she seize any days

Her beautiful spark was taken
By criminals and thugs
Her dreams are now forsaken
All for money or possibly drugs

Lessons that should have been heeded
Trappings that should not ever be
Truly these things were never needed
Just for earthly items ever so petty

Their way of life is so damning
Because of those they hurt or killed
Maybe they'll become less demanding
But the holes inside them cannot be filled

Their souls in mortal jeopardy
Perhaps they will eventually grasp
Her life is now their tragedy
And they can never escape the past

Pray for all of these souls in need
Today, tomorrow, next week, next year
And hope she finds eternal peace
Pray her family no longer lives in fear
