Our Rustic Hearts
Patrick Weinstein 1975 (California)
Our Rustic Hearts
What does it mean to have a Rustic Heart,
Its always holding on as strong as you did from the start,
It’s when you’re made with a little country and a whole lot of grit,
Proud to be from simpler times, when you try to earn what you get,
We take the trials and tribulations with a grain of sand,
Keeping our heads up and arms out with welcoming open hands,
Praying for patience and endurance to the depths of your soul,
Despite any situation or schedule, knowing God’s in control,
Remaining hopeful and courageous just a little bit longer,
Even when we’re tired finding the strength needed to be just a little bit stronger.
But if there ever comes a time when you feel your rustic heart begin to crack.
Just know I have a rustic heart too, so I have always got your back!
