Fifteen
A few weeks ago I slipped up.
I accidentally opened my big mouth.
And now I regret it more than ever,
Because I said something I didn't mean.
I'm only fifteen
I don't know who I am
or who I'm Supposed to be
But when you're someone like me
You're expected to have it all figured out by now
And people expect you to know
who you are.
Yet I still don't know.
I'm only fifteen
Is it fair for me to go to sleep wishing I don't wake up?
I'm only fifteen
is it fair for me to cut the ripe tomatoes I have for arms?
I'm only fifteen
Is it my fault? do I deserve it?
I'm only fifteen
I don't know who I like
I'm only fifteen
And who I am changes every day
One day I like girls, One day I like boys, One day I like both, And One day I like none.
But it's okay, I'm not supposed to have it all figured out.
I think I matured too quickly, and started to think
and investigate things about myself that I was too young
to find.
And so again, I slipped up
And said something I didn't mean
Now I'm in eternal damnation
till I'm set free
About this poem
This poem is about my life as a fifteen year old, growing up with naivety and innocence but being a mature child that grew up before everybody else and felt out of place.
