The End.

As death advances
Nearer each day.
And you long just to stay
A few more months weeks years.
Watching others
Wipe their tears.
The holding of hands.
That try to stop the flow of sand.
But in the end there's only you.
As the light grows dim.
Death beckons you in.
You wait.
Turn and see.
All that was and
What could've been.
Will you be sad to go?
Regretful.. forgetful
Startled.  fretful.
Happy content
With how life went.
There is no turning back.
Just the vastness of the black.
A spark of hope ignites the gloom.
As you step through
To the other room.
