Bane

Kennet Benoit-Hutchins 1952 (Snowdon, Montreal, QC)

Grasping for all that can be taken
Reveling in the angst of the powerless
Evermore, Evermore, Poe's Raven extant
Eternally romancing the gilded throne
Damned are those who paid your way.

I absolutely love the dark and haunting nature of this poem! The imagery is vivid and captivating, and the message is thought-provoking. I especially enjoyed the allusion to Poe's Raven, which adds even more depth to the piece.

My only suggestion would be to perhaps add more variation in the line length and structure to enhance the rhythm and flow. Overall, a fantastic poem that leaves a lasting impression. Well done!
