QUIET THOUGHTS

At the dawning of each new day,
I know not what will come my way,
And when I can't think of words to say,
In the Spirit, I can pray.
I hope that God's gentle blessings will flow
As back and forth, in this day, I go.
When Satan throws his darts, I won't forget
That the Lord has never failed me yet.
With armor on--fully dressed for the fight,
I know He will protect me with His strength and might.
With patience, I'll stand--without fear or fright,
And see the Devil put to flight.
At the end of the day, my mouth will open in praise;
With His joy on the inside, my hands, I'll raise,
And even through the trials and tribulations sore,
He has just brought me through another day once more.

About this poem

As I sat, one day, thinking about the goodness of God, thoughts began to flow through my mind. I began to write, and a poem was born.
