Let Us Both Be the Tree

I'll pick up the pieces
While you fall apart
I'll sew back together
The tears in my heart
I feel like the grass
Overshadowed by trees
You have the power
You bring me to my knees
I'd do anything for you
That seems to be the problem
Though my intentions are true
My mind seems to rob them
Of all that is willing
Deep down in my soul
My actions mean nothing
A bottomless pool
Searching for acknowledgement
At every slight turn
But getting most nothing
Just feeling the burn
Of the tears on my sweater
As I sob in my bed
Though you claim to know me
You ignore me instead
Ignore my tears and my cute little gestures
Ignore my feelings that seem to fester
Like a rash on my skin
That I fail to conceal
An open air wound
Only I can now feel
For I've tried my damnedest
To prove that I love you
It seems that my motion
Has come to a standstill
So I leave you with this
And give you some space
Call when you want
Or we meet face to face
To go over again
What we already have
Repeat our history
But not live in the past
For our love can be stronger
I believe this is true
But you need to be willing
To give in to it too
Stop pushing me back
And folding your arms
Grasping my heart
With the thick of your palms
Let our love flow
like it naturally should
Let it grow like a spruce
so deep in the wood
That no one but us
can feel that soft breeze
Of loves natural whisper
As it floats through the leaves
Let our branches intertwine
As they once did before
Pick up my soul
Fore it dies on the floor
Of this gorgeous wood glen
Where we both can grow free
Lift up my spirit
Let us both be the tree

Fine work here. Love is something that we don't understand well both male and female.

Olivia this is beautiful. To understand love so well is not common. The palm of the hand on the heart and the feeling of soft buzz on Spruce. Could you understand any less. Wow! Cool Olivia. I wish I'd experienced as much as you have. You're are a lucky woman. Time well spent. Trevor

I love hard, but I don’t see that as a weakness, only a kindness others can’t understand. Thank you so much for the kind words Trevor, that’s really sweet of you.
