IF I DIE NOW

CLIFORD CLAYDEN 2000 (Migori)

If I die now,
Lay me on the alphabets
Beneath the white soils

If I did now,
Do not mourn me in black
do not cry nor lack

If I die now,
Put me in your stories
and say it loud,
Here lies the ink of a wordsmith.

About this poem

The poem though in a back handed way, is sending a will, presumably of a writer, that he/she should be remembered in writing and or through his/her writing ( alphabets) ,and be a living memory through books, symbolized by white soil..
