Shelf

I am who I am
And that’s just me
The me that is, the me that be

Tomorrow I might be different, its true
But I’ll always be me and you’ll always be you

And when winds of change come blowin’ through
The we that’s flailing and wailing—us, too

For the greatest lie we keep on our shelf
Is “I’m sorry, forgive me, I wasn’t myself.”
