Hurt me
Duan Rossouw 1997 (Rustenburg)
Hurt me -
Darling take the knife, carve out as much as you need.
My heart is your heart and my lungs will help you breathe.
No, no don't you feel sad. My pain digresses the more you have.
I might be but a chipped and empty cup. But with your affection I feel enough.
Hurt me, will you? Take the numbness away.
For I'm afraid I'm not enough for you to stay.
If two halves make one whole, I want that one to be you.
Take my working parts and make them part of you.
